Lead South African Pace Bowler Is Out of the Three-match Test Series Against India

South Africa and India will play a three-match Test series from Sunday, 26th December 2021 to 15th January 2022. The first match starts at SuperSports Park in Centurion.

South Africa has a huge blow going into this Test series. The lead pace bowler from the Proteas Nation will miss an entire three-match Test series due to an injury.

Anrich Nortje is the pace bowler who has been ruled out of the Test match series because of a persistent injury in the hips, which is troubling Anrich Nortje. Cricket South Africa – CSA also posted this news on their Twitter handle. Still, the South African cricket board announced no replacement for Anrich Nortje.

But the 20 member squad of the Proteas Team is a strong team that will take on India in the three-match Test series. Missing Nortje is a huge blow for the South African team, and that too against India in the home series of the longest format. Nortje has been a divesting bowler in recent times. Nortje has been enriched the fast bowler department with Kagiso Rabada, who will now play as the lead pace bowler in the absence of Anrich Nortje.

The 28-year-old fast bowler of the Proteas Team is a premier fast bowler for South Africa. Nortje last played the test matches against West Indies earlier this year, and he picked up eight wickets to his name. he even guided the home side to win the Test series by a margin of 2-0. The DC – Delhi Capitals duo, Rabada, and Nortje have been lethal with the white and red-ball cricket. But Rabada has blown hot and cold in recent times.

It would be interesting to see how Kagiso Rabada fares in the Test match series against India in the absence of Anrich Nortje, and Dunne Olivier can also make a comeback into the Test side of South Africa. Olivier played his last test match for South Africa in 2019, and now he has been included in the 20 man squad for the home series against India.

Olivier Dunne had a good stint with Kolpak, and he was also the highest wicket-taker for his team this season. Dunne also played four first-class aches for the four-day franchise, and he has picked up 28 wickets to his name with an average of 11.14, and he has taken nine wickets for 95 runs as his best figures in that competition.
